Privacy Policy

HoopSpots is a directory of basketball courts. You can browse it without an account. This page explains what we collect, why, who receives it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

What we collect

• Quote requests: your name, email, ZIP code, timeline, optional phone number and notes, and the court you set up in the cost calculator.
• Other forms: what you enter when you add a court, report a change, list a facility, or claim a listing, including any contact details you give us.
• Email requests: your email address, what you asked for, the page you asked from, any court you set up in the cost calculator, and whether you agreed to mailing list emails.
• Technical data: our hosting and security services process your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and block spam.
• Your location, if you allow it: when you ask to sort courts near you, your browser uses your location on your device to do the sorting. We don't save it. If you use it to place a new court on the map, that court's position is sent with your submission.
• Saved form drafts: some forms save your progress in your own browser, so you can finish later. Sending the form clears the draft.

We don't currently use analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

How we use it

• To respond to you and pass your quote request to installers, if you agree
• To review and publish court information and facility listings
• To email you the estimate, kit or pack you asked for
• To send mailing list emails, only if you opted in and confirmed by clicking the link we emailed you
• To check listing claims and contact you about that listing
• To keep the site working and protect it from spam and abuse

Court installers

If you request quotes and agree to sharing, we send your contact and project details to court installers serving your area so they can contact you by email or phone. We may be paid by those installers for introductions, which some privacy laws treat as a "sale" of personal information. Once an installer has your details, its own privacy practices apply. We don't share your details with installers unless you agree on the form, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Services that process data for us

• Vercel: hosts the website
• Supabase: stores form submissions
• Brevo: delivers our emails and stores our mailing lists
• Google reCAPTCHA: checks that form submissions come from people. Google's privacy policy and terms apply to it, and it may set cookies.
• OpenStreetMap: provides map images, so your browser sends it your IP address when a map loads

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of selling or transferring the site.

Mailing lists

Asking for an estimate or kit doesn't put you on a mailing list. You join only if you opt in and then confirm by email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we keep a record of your request and your choice so we can show what you agreed to. Quote requests are separate, and we don't add them to our mailing lists.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as the law requires, and delete them when you ask unless we have to keep them.

Your choices

Email hello@hoopspots.com to ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, or to opt out of having it shared with installers. Depending on where you live, you may have other legal rights, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We'll reply within 30 days. We can't recall details that an installer already has, but we'll tell you who received them so you can contact them directly.

Security

Form submissions are stored in a database that visitors can't read. No online service is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as financial details in a form.

Children

This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has sent us their details, email us and we'll delete them.

Changes and contact
