Open Gym Basketball: Schedules and Where to Play
Open gym is a set time when a gym is open for drop-in or pickup basketball. Times change by season, so we list sessions only where a park's own page publishes them. Elsewhere, we list the gyms to call.

Frequently asked questions
What is open gym basketball?
It's a scheduled block when a gym is open for drop-in play instead of leagues, classes or rentals. Players usually run pickup games.
Where can I play pickup basketball?
Pickup basketball usually happens at public park courts and during open gym at recreation centers and YMCAs. Outdoor courts need no sign-up, while indoor sessions may need a membership or fee.
How do I find open gym basketball near me?
Start with your city's recreation centers, community centers and YMCAs, then check their schedule page or call. Times change by season and many places don't publish them online.
Is open gym basketball free?
Sometimes. It depends on the center and the session, and some need a membership, day pass or small fee. Sessions listed here show the fee from the park's own page.
Do I need to register for open gym?
Some centers take drop-ins and others ask you to register or show a membership first. Check the session's details or call ahead.
